Ocean Infinity submits a fresh no-find-no-fee proposal. In December 2024 Malaysia approves in principle a 15,000 km² search worth up to US$70 million if wreckage is found.
On 2 May 2024 Ocean Infinity submitted a new search proposal to Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport. On 20 December 2024 the government approved in principle a 15,000 km² operation in the southern Indian Ocean on no-find-no-fee terms, with a reported success fee of about US$70 million. The area was described as previously unsearched or under-searched along the 7th arc, informed by updated analysis.
