Right flaperon — Réunion
Found 29 July 2015 · confirmed 3 September 2015 as 9M-MRO
First physical evidence. Internal part numbers traced through EADS CASA to 9M-MRO. A 777 flaperon does not drift from Kazakhstan or the South China Sea to Réunion.
Found at Saint-Denis, Réunion. French judicial custody, DGA-TA Toulouse. Nameplate missing; internal numbers matched the right flaperon of 9M-MRO. Barnacles consistent with more than a year in water. CSIRO reverse-drift found a southern 7th-arc origin compatible with a mid-2015 Réunion arrival. Damage has been read as high-speed impact and as a ditching sequence; the official investigation did not treat it as proof of a controlled landing. This piece closed the class of intact-landing hypotheses in Central Asia.
