Last voice contact
17:19:30 UTC · “Good night Malaysian three seven zero”
Lumpur Radar transfers MH370 to Ho Chi Minh. The reply — attributed to the captain — is the last recorded voice transmission from the flight.
At 17:19:30 UTC Lumpur Radar instructed MH370 to contact Ho Chi Minh Control on 120.9 MHz. The response, “Good night Malaysian three seven zero,” is the last radio transmission attributed to the flight. Voice identification in the official investigation attributed the transmission to Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah; the first officer was not heard on the frequency in the handover. Ho Chi Minh never established two-way contact. Within two minutes the transponder returns stopped. The calm, protocol-correct handover, followed almost immediately by a total communications dropout and a large turn, is one of the central unresolved juxtapositions in the file.
